Savoy Energy Corporation (SNVP), Prolor Biotech, Inc. (PBTH), New Energy Technologies, Inc. (NENE), Callisto Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (CLSP), and GeoVax Labs, Inc. (GOVX) were among today’s top movers.
Savoy Energy Corporation [[SNVP.OB]], an oil company focused on re-drilling oil wells in the U.S., completed its joint venture in Fiji for oil exploration. Savoy-Masi Petroleum Corporation will license properties in Fiji for recompletion and work-over activities. A mountain of data from the early 80’s could make this play extremely successful with rising oil prices.
Prolor Biotech, Inc. [[PBTH.OB]], a development-stage biopharmaceutical company utilizing technology to develop versions of approved therapeutic proteins, shares rose more than 10 percent on no news. Investors are bullish on the stock after it was awarded two U.S. patents for its longer-acting human growth hormone and longer-acting erythropoietin drugs.
New Energy Technologies, Inc. [[NENE.OB]], a next generation alternative and renewable energies developer, shares rose more than 15 percent after it unveiled a finalized prototype of its MotionPower device, which generates electricity from the movement of cars and light trucks. A prototype of this technology will be installed at a Burger King in the New York Metro area.
Callisto Pharmaceuticals, Inc. [[CLSP.OB]], a biopharmaceutical company focused primarily on the development of drugs to treat neuroendocrine cancer and other diseases, rose nearly 15 percent on no news. However, shareholders remain bullish on the clinical data from its Phase I healthy volunteer study of SP-304 to treat irritable bowel syndrome.
GeoVax Labs, Inc. [[GOVX.OB]], a clinical stage biotechnology company, shares jumped more than 10 percent after one of its directors, Andrew Kandalepas, resigned from his positions as Senior Vice President and Director of the company. The executive may remain involved with the company through a consulting relationship, while the company looks for a replacement.
