Top 5 OTC-BB and Pinksheets Market Movers
OptiCon Systems Inc. (OPCN), BWI Holdings Inc. (BWIH), Gold Horse International Inc. (GHII), Advaxis, Inc. (ADXS), and China Agri-Business, Inc. (CHBU) were among today’s top movers.
OptiCon Systems Inc. [[OPCN.OB]] shares jumped more than 40 percent after it broke a key technical level on unusually high volume. Over the past three trading days, the stock has moved up more than 160 percent. Meanwhile, the company also announced its entry into the African telecommunications market, with an exclusive agent agreement with Develco in South Africa.
BWI Holdings Inc. [[BWIH.OB]] shares surged more than 25 percent after it signed a three year contract with Alberta Sustainable Resource Development. The company will provide water trucks for fighting forest fires in Alberta and neighboring provinces on an on-call basis. The agreement went into effect on April 1, 2009 and will continue until April 1, 2012.
Gold Horse International Inc. [[GHII.OB]] shares spiked more than 50 percent after a move higher earlier this week. The Chinese wind power company is profitable with a price-earnings ratio of under 1x and is selling at just 26 percent of its book value. Finally, management also announced that it was headed to New York to raise capital to drive future growth.
Advaxis, Inc. [[ADXS.OB]] shares moved up more than 90 percent after it announced that its Phase I clinical cervix cancer study will be published in peer-reviewed science journal Vaccine. The drug was found to be administered safely with flu-like side effects that are common to many immunotherapies. The study was not designed to assess efficacty at this point.
China Agri-Business, Inc. [[CHBU.OB]] shares moved up more than 80 percent on no new news. The manufacturer and marketer of organic biochemical agriculture application products reported net income of approximately $1.34 million, or $0.10 per share, in 2008 earlier this month. Investors are hoping that new marketing campaigns will pay off in 2009.
