Sunrise Solar Corporation (SSLR), Bion Environmental Technology, Inc. (BNET), Intrusion Inc. (INTZ), BWI Holdings Inc. (BWIH), and Juniper Group, Inc. (JNIPE) were among today’s top movers.
Sunrise Solar Corporation [[SSLR.OB]] shares jumped more than 30 percent after management met with government leaders in Washington to identify specific demonstration projects related to its solar energy and alternative energy solution earlier this week. The company’s proposals were well-received and the response thus far suggests that the officials are inclined to move forward with specific demonstration projects, which could lead to larger projects this year.
Bion Environmental Technologies, Inc. [[BNET.OB]] shares fell more than 30 percent after a large block trade of over 130,000 shares dropped the stock. The move comes a month after the company’s latest 10-Q filing with the SEC, indicating that it has continued its two-year long streak of reporting no operating revenues while running up approximately $1.77 million in operating expenses during the year ended June 30, 2008.
Intrusion, Inc. [[INTZ.OB]] shares soared more than 100 percent after it booked $1.2 million in TraceCop orders from a U.S. Defense Contractor. These orders are expected to produce revenues over the second and third quarters of 2009. The product provides abilities to trace the source of cyber attacks and other types of network crime. Investors pushed shares up sharply in anticipation of these new revenues and the possibility of more in the future.
BWI Holdings Inc. [[BWIH.OB]] shares more than doubled after it announced the appointment of Robert (Monty) Scory as Vice President of its Oil Field Division. The executive was instrumental in the growth and development of one of Alberta’s largest oilfield service companies in Southern Alberta and joins the company after many years as an oilfield consultant for several large oilfield companies.
Juniper Group, Inc. [[JNIPE.OB]] shares jumped more than 30 percent after it announced a Master Service Agreement with BCI Communication. BCI is a nationwide service vendor to the wireless industry with 16 locations across the United States. Its services include construction, network, RF engineering and site acquisition. Juniper expects to begin long-term work for BCI within the next couple of weeks in New England.
