Genta Inc. [[GNTA.OB]] shares surged more than 30 percent after it announced that it would presenting two of its lead compounds, Genasense® and Tesetaxel, at the 2009 American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) Annual Meeting on May 29th in Orlando, FL. The news comes after the company completed enrollment into AGENDA, the second of two large randomized Phase 3 trials of Genasense® plus dacarbazine chemotherapy. Investors are hoping that the conference presentations with drive interest, while still hoping that trials will finally pass muster.
Patriot Scientific Corporation [[PTSC.OB]] shares moved up more than 30 percent after it announced that it had been awarded a U.S. General Services Administration Schedule Information Technology (IT-70) contract to offer selected products and services, including its Crossflo DataExchange® software solutions. The inclusion helps strengthen the company’s ability to provide mandated data-sharing capabilities to federal government agencies, and investors are bullish on the future prospects of the platform.
Javo Beverages Company, Inc. [[JAVO.OB]] shares surged more than 15 percent after it broke a key technical resistance level. The stock broke through a key 200-day moving average as well as through a key resistance trend-line at $0.325 per share and broke out sharply to the upside. Meanwhile, fundamental investors remain confidence in the company’s future, after the it announced sizable expansion plans despite reporting a loss.
IEC Electronics Corporation [[IECE.OB]] shares moved up more than 20 percent after it released its quarterly earnings report for the three months ended March 27, 2009. The company reported strong second quarter growth and significantly surpassed the revenue achieved during the prior year. The $4.4 million increase in net sales represents an improvement of 37 percent over the same quarter last year. Meanwhile, the company experienced solid new orders and, despite the recession, expects continued growth in both revenue and profitability in 2009.
NXT Nutritionals Holding [[NXTH.OB]] shares jumped more than 10 percent after it announced that former NBA star Ralph Sampson will make a personal appearance for the company at the JDRF’s Spring for a Cure event on April 30, 2009. NXT is a sponsor at the event that is being held at the Metropolitan Pavilion in New York City. The company will be presenting those in attendance with its SUSTA Natural Sweetener, a healthy, minimal calorie, nutritional sweetening system, and investors are eagerly awaiting the results.
