Applied DNA Sciences Inc. [[APDN.OB]] announced that it has opened an authentication laboratory in Hyddersfield Yorkshire, UK. This laboratory will produce forensic evidence of originality and product identity. The new facility will be utilized to service all of APDN’s business, including the immediate goals of expanding both the SigNature DNA and BioMaterial GenoTyping Textile programs, and providing authentication services for the Cash-In-Transit industry.
China Organic Agriculture [[CNOA.OB]] shares moved up more than 25 percent after the company announced strong year-end 2008 results. The company reported $20 million, or $0.34 per share, in net income on $112 million in revenues for 2008. Meanwhile, the company still shows relatively little debt given the value of its assets. Given that the stock is trading at just $0.38 per share, some value investors are starting to jump in and purchase shares.
ERHC Energy Inc. [[ERHE.OB]] shares jumped more than 15 percent after on no additional news. Earlier this month, the company reported that a deepwater drill ship has been secured for its joint development effort in the highly prospective Gulf of Guinea off the coast of West Africa. The company has a 19.5% participating interest in the JDZ Block 4, 22% participating interest in JDZ Block 2, a smaller participating interest in JDZ Block 3, and working interest in three other blocks.
KEMET Corporation [[KEME.OB]] shares moved up more than 15 percent on no new news. Earlier this month, the company announced the extension of one of its credit facilities with UniCredit Corporate Banking. Under the terms, the company’s EUR35 million credit facility that was scheduled to mature on April 9, 2009 was extended for a two year and three month period and will now mature on July 1, 2011.
Ecotality, Inc. [[ETLY.OB]] shares moved up more than 50 percent after the company announced that it is working with Nissan and Maricopa Association of Governments (MAG) to facilitate the establishment of electronic vehicle (EV) charge infrastructure throughout Arizona’s Maricopa County. In conjunction with the anticipated 2010 launch of Nissan’s zero-emission electronic vehicle, Ecotality is seeking to create the infrastructure necessary to support the vehicle.
