Nitro Petroleum, Inc. (NTRO), GWS Technologies Inc. (GWSC), and Miller Petroleum Inc. (MILL) were among today’s top market movers.
Nitro Petroleum Inc. [[NTRO.OB]] recently completed testing of its first well of two in Alberta. The testing proved very well with a flow rate of 700,000 cubic feet of gas per day including hydrocarbon liquids. The Banff structure is zoned with large natural gas reservoirs in which Nitro will do further testing.
GWS Technologies [[GWSC.OB]] just announced plans for a new solar farm in the Phoenix area. The alternative energy company has submitted preliminary plans to the Salt River Project Agricultural Improvement and Power District (SRP) to develop a solar farm in Mesa, Arizona. The agreement with SRP is great for GWS, as it would put them on the board as a solar player with SRP. SRP provides electricity to nearly 930,000 retail customers in the Phoenix area.
Miller Petroleum Inc. [[MILL.OB]] has acquired certain assets from privately owned Ky-Tenn Oil, Inc. The acquisition gives Miller Petroleum over 35,000 leased acres on the Chattanooga Shale and 173 natural gas and oil producing wells. The acquisition doubles their oil production and more than triples their natural gas production.
