BIO-key International, Inc. [[BKYI.OB]], which develops and markets fingerprint identification biometric technology and software solutions, saw its shares jump nearly 20 percent after being featured in several investment newsletters. Investors have also been increasingly bullish on the company as it attended several conferences and hired a former FBI official as a consultant.
Genta Incorporated [[GETA.OB]], which develops drugs for the treatment of cancer and related diseases, saw its shares rebound more than 15 percent after dropping sharply lower on Thursday. Shares had dropped after yet another round of disappointing results for its Genasense drug in melanoma. The drug has failed to obtain FAD approval since its initial application in 2004.
Longwei Petroleum Investment Hold Ltd. [[LPIH.OB]], which is an oil and gas exploration company with operations in China, saw its shares drop nearly 8 percent after closing a private placement for $14.8 million to establish inventory for a new storage facility that is expected to add $40 million to revenues and $6 million to net income.
