BioTime, Inc. (BTIM), Wataire International, Inc. (WTAR), and Applied DNA Sciences, Inc. (APDN) were among this morning’s top OTC market movers.
BioTime, Inc. [[BTIM.OB]], which develops synthetic plasma expanders and blood volume substitute solutions, saw its shares jump more than 20 percent after announcing that it would present at the 2009 World Stem Cell Summit. The company’s lead product, Hextend, is a blood plasma expander that is used to replace blood volume lost during surgery.
Wataire International, Inc. [[WTAR.OB]], which distributes commercial and home/office water generation machines, saw its shares jump nearly 20 percent after announcing plans to tackle the global water crisis. The company’s press release highlighted a new study by the World Health Organization stating that approximately 1 billion people lack access to potable water.
Applied DNA Sciences, Inc. [[APDN.OB]], which develops DNA embedded biotechnology security solutions, saw its shares jump more than 10 percent after announcing that its anti-counterfeiting technologies can be deployed in covert programs that seek to identify leaks in supply chains, called “diversions”, which create a “gray market” for goods.
