Genova Biotherapeutics, Inc. (GVBP), Stem Cell Therapy International, Inc. (SCII), and Longwei Petroleum Investment Holding Ltd. (LPIH) were among today’s top OTC movers.
Genova Biotherapeutics, Inc. [[GVBP.OB]], a biotechnology company fighting infectious diseases and cancer, saw its shares rise more than 40 percent after announcing that it is preparing for patent application filings in both the U.S. and Europe subsequent to expected efficacious and non-toxic pre-clinical trial results for its Prostaganin drug.
Stem Cell Therapy International, Inc. [[SCII.OB]], which is engaged in the licensing of stem cell technologies and sale of stem cell products, saw its shares jump more than 70 percent following news of its settlement with Histostem Corporation of Korea. Under the terms, SCII will acquire no less than 90 percent of the total fully diluted equity.
Longwei Petroleum Investment Holding Ltd. [[LPIH.OB]], which purchases, refines and resells diesel, gasoline, fuel oil and kerosene from various suppliers, saw its shares jump more than 12 percent after reporting record revenues of approximately $197 million and net income of about $23.9 million, or $0.31 per share for the fiscal year ended June 30, 2009.
